BEACH YOGA RETREAT

Crete is the home of the ancient gods of Greek mythology, not least the birthplace of Zeus and whether these legendary gods walked the earth or not there is no doubting the spiritual power, love and energy that people find here. Join us for a week in our exclusive beachside retreat, the perfect place to shed the stress, recharge and energise!
After settling in on arrival day, we will greet each glorious day and share every sunset with a mixture of Yoga forms and other wellbeing activities guided by your dedicated yoga master Aspa. She has specifically designed the week to not only ensure you leave feeling fulfilled, recharged and at peace, but offers the opportunity for a deeper consciousness and awareness of the energy around us. Aspa is a certified Yoga instructor by the International Yoga Teacher Association - IYTA and Hellenic Yoga Teachers Association since 2010, she currently lives in Chania and teaches Yoga in several studios and wellness centers.
During your inclusive escape we will enjoy a range of yoga and breathing exercise sessions, all in front of the gentle lapping waves of the Mediterranean - Bliss!

HATHA YOGA

Hatha Yoga is the foundation of all Yoga styles. It is a complete yoga system that includes a mix of asanas (postures-poses), pranayama (regulated breathing), concentration techniques and relaxation. Hatha classed are accessible to everyone regardless of age, body type or ability level. Hatha yoga is a path toward creating balance and uniting opposites. In our physical bodies we develop a balance of strength and flexibility. We also learn to reduce stress and increase awareness. Our final destination is  to align and calm our body, mind, and spirit in preparation for meditation.

PARTNER YOGA

Partner yoga is a great way to surrender deeper into the practice of asana. The help of another person allows us to let go of the effort and dive more deeply into the present moment. The exchange of energy that takes place through the connection with another person in yoga poses can be revelatory for both partners. And most of all, it is a lot of fun!

MUDRAS

Mudras are powerful positions of the body that can influence the subtle energy flow (prana) throughout the body and brain.In yoga, we utilize mudras to draw our attention deeper inside and channel energy flow to enhance our health and state of mind. Body mudras are known for relaxing the nervous system and increasing the lung capacity.

VEGETARIAN MEALS

Crete is a blessed land with a wide variety of vegetables and fruits growing organically on its rich land. During our yoga week we will taste a variety of traditional dishes, cooked exclusively with extravirgin olive oil. Avocados, feta cheese and Greek yoghurt, nuts and seeds, organic honey, fresh fruits and vegetables from our own garden await you.

VINYASA FLOW YOGA

In Vinyasa flow yoga classes, students coordinate movement with breath to flow from one pose to the next. It is a very physically active form of yoga which emphasises the physical benefits such As increased flexibility, mental focus, cardiovascular conditioning, calorie-burn and muscle development. It can be done in a slow or a more dynamic style according to the practitioners.

NIDRA YOGA

Yoga nidra, or yogic sleep as it is commonly known, is an immensely powerful relaxation (meditation) technique, and one of the easiest yoga practices to develop and maintain. Intense vinyasa flows and long asana holds are not for everyone. Yoga nidra, however, is a practice that everyone, from children to seniors, can do. It's easy to follow at any age. All that your body needs to do is lie down on the floor. And even if you can't lie down on the floor, you can still do this practice seated!

GONG BATH

Gong meditation is a unique type of sound practice that involves using therapeutic gong sounds and vibrations to bring about healing. This practice is also sometimes referred to as a “gong bath” because participants are “bathed” in meditation gong sound waves. The goal of “gong meditation” is usually therapeutic.

CHANIA OLD HARBOR

A relaxing walk through the cobbled streets of the Venetian Old Harbor of Chania is a must for any visitor. We will learn the history of this pitoresque town and how it survived through the waves of foreign occupation, experimenting its nowadays charm of little artisanal shops and vintage fashion. We will end the day with a somptuous sunset dinner at one of the seaside tavernas, with the harbor lighthouse colors at dusk and the casual atmosphere of people walking by.

LYENGAR YOGA

By paying close attention to anatomical details and the alignment of each posture, Iyengar Yoga is the practice of precision. Poses are held for long periods and often modified with props. This method is designed to systematically cultivate strength, flexibility, stability, and awareness, and can be therapeutic for specific conditions. 

PRANAYAMA YOGA

Pranayama is a practice relating to the control and regulation of the breath through specific breathing techniques and exercises. Pranayama exercises help us to clear physical and emotional blocks or obstacles in the body so that the breath, and prana, can flow freely. Pranayama uses the breath to direct and expand the flow of prana through energy channels in our bodies - called the nadis. While attention to the breath is a central part of any yoga practice, Pranayama involves specific breathing exercises that can either be practised on their own, or as part of a Hatha yoga (physical yoga) practice.

TIBETAN SINGING BOWLS

Singing bowls produce sounds which invoke a deep state of relaxation which naturally assists one in entering into meditation.
In addition to their traditional usage for meditation, singing bowls are used for deep relaxation, stress reduction, holistic healing.

NATURE WALKS

Olive groves with amazing views over the sea, undisturbed flora and fauna, walking trails from beautiful seas to high mountains, Crete is a nature's lover paradise in any season. During our week, we will have two guided walks in nature to reconnect with Mother Earth and admire the breathtaking views of this Mediterranean island.
