The famous botanical gardens of Crete consists of some 20 hectares of undulating land and terraced plantation areas, packed full of fruit trees from all over the world, in addition to herbs, medicinal and ornamental plants, where the land’s formation and the region’s microclimate make it a paradise for hundreds of indigenous only to Crete plants and animals.

The history of Chania, explained in a leisurely walk through the charming cobbled streets of Venetian heritage, followed by a lavish, delicious Cretan dinner of authentic local dishes, with chilled wine, in a dramatic sunset setting, right near the sea.

Visit to a local winery, a family business developed through generations, where passion, experience and tradition meet technology. Vineyards, stone built cellar, wine museum and a tasting room overlooking the Kissamos bay will take us through a journey in time, discovering how the Minoans made and stored wine thousands of years ago, what are the local varieties and how the local antrepreneurs are blending ancient types of grapes to create unique wines.

Visit to a local fruit and vegetables market followed by a hands-on cooking lesson that will show you the secrets of Mediterranean diet and how simple is to eat healthy. We will enjoy a relaxed lunch of Cretan dishes paired with local wines, some of ancient origin.

This day is a real treat, not just because Falassarna beach on the west coast offers stunning views, whitish soft sand stretching on over 3 km and some of the most beautiful crystal clear water to swim, but because the lunch included on this memorable day out is taken at one of the most authentic, fabulous yet totally rustic fish taverns on the whole of the island of Crete, made famous by its world beating kakavia (Cretan fisherman’s soup).

A first-hand experience of how a mega brain that is a bee colony is organized, we will witness through a glass-hive the absolute order and progress that defines it, with explanations about the amazing life of the bee Queen and how it controls the entire colony. At the end of the tour we will taste the artisan honey but also other beneficial products such as pollen, royal jelly, propolis and rakomelo - a local alchoolic drink made with honey and raki.
