Guided visit to botanical park and lunch

The famous botanical gardens of Crete consists of some 20 hectares of undulating land and terraced plantation areas, packed full of fruit trees from all over the world in addition to herbs, medicinal and ornamental plants, where the land’s formation and the region’s microclimate make it a paradise for hundreds of indigenous only to Crete plants and animals.

It’s a beautiful way to spend a morning walking through the Mediterranean fruit trees garden, citrus groves, cherry tree garden, tropical plants, vineyards and aromatic herbs endemic of Crete and also spot butterflies, wild birds and local fauna around the lake, which will give you a real feel for the natural richness of this island, unique in many ways to the rest of Greece and her other islands.

Lunch will be taken at their farm-to-table restaurant on-site, with stunning views over the valley and dishes prepared from organically grown vegetables and fruits from this garden, finished with mountain tea, dessert and traditional tsikoudia, a fragrant, grape-based pomace brandy, very popular in Crete.
