In the land of the gods, under the Mediterranean sun, close to the sea and in a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere surrounded by nature, we have designed this restorative yoga retreat aimed to bring back your strength, balance, flexibility and peace of mind
A relaxing vacation in a singles only resort, where everyone has their own room, with sunrise and sunset yoga classes suitable for any level, with authentic Mediterranean meals and an array of activities ranging from spa treatments and massages to beach escapes and culinary experiences.
Our guide for the week is Lisa Garratt, a Morales Method® Core Integration Therapist and Structural Integration practitioner who specializes in combining Alignment-Based Hatha, Gentle, Restorative, and Vinyasa Flow yoga classes with therapeutic bodywork and massages. Her yoga classes emphasize mindfulness, alignment, and deepening the connection with the breath, while her bodywork sessions are one-on-one and will target individual participant needs, treating people with injuries and pain by focusing on fascia, joint stability, and mobilization. In addition to applying Structural Integration concepts, Lisa uses techniques that include cranial sacral therapy and polarity to help with the integration and therapeutic process. 
Working in the field of yoga and bodywork since 2002, Lisa is working in USA and has taught in Sri Lanka, Bali, Greece, and Mexico; has a strong Iyengar background; is a CMT, a Structural Integrator, and an E-RYT500 Yoga Alliance registered yoga teacher. She is continuously developing her knowledge and techniques, studying currently with Advanced Rolfer™, Marty Morales, the founder of the Morales Method® and Advanced Iyengar Yoga Teacher, Kofi Busia among others.
About the resort:
Mistral Singles is a unique resort on the western side of Crete which caters exclusively to independent and solo travelers looking for good food, good company and a warm, natural environment.  Located just 3 minutes walk from the beach in the historic village of Maleme, 16 kilometers west of Chania, the Mistral Hotel has two good sized swimming pools and an outdoor Jacuzzi surrounded by spacious terraces with beautiful wooden sun loungers and umbrellas. Rooms feature a contemporary Cretan styling with furnishings, bathroom fittings and tiles and every bed has an award winning COCO MAT Orthosomatic Top Mattress and luxury feather pillows.  The onsite restaurant opens at lunchtime and serves a wide variety of dishes including traditional, local specialties and snacks. All food is freshly prepared using locally sourced ingredients and vegetables from their own garden.

HATHA YOGA

Hatha Yoga is the foundation of all Yoga styles. It is a complete yoga system that includes a mix of asanas (postures-poses), pranayama (regulated breathing), concentration techniques and relaxation. Hatha classed are accessible to everyone regardless of age, body type or ability level. Hatha yoga is a path toward creating balance and uniting opposites. In our physical bodies we develop a balance of strength and flexibility. We also learn to reduce stress and increase awareness. Our final destination is  to align and calm our body, mind, and spirit in preparation for meditation.

MASSAGE THERAPY

Lisa is a a Certified Massage Therapist (CMT #20905) and she is specialized in therapeutic bodywork and treating people with injuries and pain using various levels of intensity. Her work focuses on fascia, joint mobilization, and stability and is adapted on each individual needs, aiming to increase flexibility and strenght. 

VINYASA FLOW YOGA

In Vinyasa flow yoga classes, students coordinate movement with breath to flow from one pose to the next. It is a very physically active form of yoga which emphasises the physical benefits such As increased flexibility, mental focus, cardiovascular conditioning, calorie-burn and muscle development. It can be done in a slow or a more dynamic style according to the practitioners.

AUTHENTIC CRETAN DIET

Crete is a blessed land with a wide variety of vegetables and fruits growing organically on its rich land. During our yoga week we will taste a variety of traditional dishes, cooked exclusively with extravirgin olive oil. Avocados, feta cheese and Greek yoghurt, nuts and seeds, organic honey, fresh fruits and a variety of vegetables from our own garden await you.

LYENGAR YOGA

By paying close attention to anatomical details and the alignment of each posture, Iyengar Yoga is the practice of precision. Poses are held for long periods and often modified with props. This method is designed to systematically cultivate strength, flexibility, stability, and awareness, and can be therapeutic for specific conditions. 

CHANIA OLD HARBOR

A relaxing walk through the cobbled streets of the Venetian Old Harbor of Chania is a must for any visitor. We will learn the history of this pitoresque town and how it survived through the waves of foreign occupation, experimenting its nowadays charm of little artisanal shops and vintage fashion. We will end the day with a somptuous sunset dinner at one of the seaside tavernas, with the harbor lighthouse colors at dusk and the casual atmosphere of people walking by.
